OFFENCE: Dan Brannagan, Queen’s Gaels, Quarterback
Brannagan (Burlington, Ont.) outdueled Michael Faulds and the No. 5 Western Mustangs on Oct. 17 as the No. 4 Queen's Gaels earned a thrilling 27-26 victory. The accounting major was 35-for-53 passing for 436 yards and two touchdowns while engineering the game-winning drive in the final minute. Brannagan connected with Blaise Morrison on a 30-yard catch-and-run touchdown with 13 seconds left to secure the win. The fifth-year pivot has passed for 2,290 yards this season and is now just 31 yards from breaking the all-time Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) record of 10,455. He is a four-time OUA offensive player of the week in 2009.
