MALE: Jimmy Allin, Queen’s Gaels, Football
Allin had the game of his career as he returned two punts and a kickoff for touchdowns in the Gaels thrilling 52-49 victory over the Guelph Gryphons on Monday. In addition to the touchdowns, Jimmy recorded the second-highest single game punt return yardage in CIS history with 259. He also had 180 kickoff return yards for a total of 439 return yards on the day. Allin is also the OUA Football Special Teams Player of the Week.
FEMALE: Courtney Luscombe, Ottawa Gee-Gees, Soccer
The fifth-year striker scored two goals over two season-opening weekend games to help the No. 5 Ottawa Gee-Gees earn three of a possible four points. An Ottawa native, Luscombe scored once in the Gee-Gees season-opening 2-2 draw at Nipissing on Saturday and followed up with her second of the season the next day in a 3-0 shutout at Laurentian.
