LUMSDEN SIGNS WITH ESKIMOS
"Jesse Lumsden is the complete package – he's got the ability to run tackle to tackle with power and challenge you with his speed and strength," said Eskimos general manager and director of football operations Danny Maciocia. "We expect he'll make a big impact on our offence."
Lumsden was selected by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the first round (sixth overall) in the 2005 CFL Canadian Draft. He was formerly OUA's all-time leader in rushing yards with 4,138 in four seasons with the McMaster Marauders from 2001 to 2004. He still holds the single-season mark for OUA rushing yards with 1,816 set in 2004, the year he was named OUA's Most Valuable Player and Hec Crighton Trophy winner as the most outstanding player in Canada. He is a three-time winner of the Yates Cup.
"I'm very excited to join a team with a winning tradition, and an organization that is family oriented," said Lumsden. "As a young boy, I spent a lot of time Eskimo dressing room and it's great to return to play for the Eskimos."
