FOUR OUA PLAYERS NAMED TOP PROSPECTS HEADING INTO CFL DRAFT
Morencie, rated No. 6 headed into Saturday's draft, is joined for the first time by Queen's Gaels defensive lineman Dee Sterling (Kingston, Ont.) at No. 7, and Toronto Varsity Blues defensive back Matt Morris (Scarborough, Ont.), who is ranked No. 9.
Ottawa Gee-Gees linebacker Mike Cornell (Hamilton, Ont.) remains on the short list of the CFL's Amateur Scouting Bureau at No. 14.
These prospects hope to follow the lead of Western Mustangs defensive lineman Vaughn Martin (London, Ont.), who became the first CIS underclassman to be selected in the NFL Draft this past Sunday. Martin was chosen in the fourth round of the NFL Draft on by the San Diego Chargers.
The CFL's Amateur Scouting Bureau is comprised of CFL scouts, player personnel directors and general managers from the league's eight teams.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats currently have the first and third overall selections in the draft and the Toronto Argonauts hold the second overall pick.
