LANCER MEN RUN FOR THE CURE
The Men in Pink campaign, organized by Lancer teammates and roommates, Rich Allin, Greg Allin, Ryan Steer and former player Micheal Lalonde, raised $1000 for the cause.
The team held a fundraising dinner last Thursday, September 29th, at Faces Roadhouse on College to kick off the charity drive. The dinner was $10 a head, with a portion of the proceeds going to the basketball program and the remaining portion being donated to the Run of the Cure campaign. A total of 83 people attended the dinner to support the cause and the efforts made by the basketball team.
The team concluded the weekend festivities by running in the Annual CIBC Run/Walk for the Cure, amongst a record number of 2,200 participants.
Lancer Head Coach Chris Oliver was pleased with the team’s commitment to this cause. “This is part of our responsibility as a basketball program.” Oliver said. “It’s our job to help give back to the community and this is an accomplishment the team should be very proud of.”
