FORMER RAVEN STARS INK PROFESSIONAL DEALS IN AUSTRALIAN BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION
Josh Poirier, Ottawa, Ontario and Paul Larmand, Victoria Harbour, Ontario, two-time defending CIS National Champion Ravens and Graduates of Carleton University are heading over to Australia to continue their basketball careers. Poirier will be joining the Kilsyth Cobras, a club near Melbourne, Australia and in addition to playing basketball; the three-time OUA East First Team All-Star will be coaching in youth clinics and camps. Poirier has already had international experience playing for Team Canada in the World University Games, in Korea (2003) and for Carleton in the 26th Jones Cup in Taipei, Taiwan (2004). In both cases Poirier earned a medal Bronze at FISU and Silver at Jones Cup. www.kilsythbasketball.com.au
Larmand, a CIS Second Team All-Canadian, will be joining Ballarat \"Neiborhood Cable\" Miners. Paul has been named Director of Coaching and Player Development for the entire Ballarat Basketball organization. The former All-Star Raven will also play professional for the Miners in the ABA. Larmand was selected as an All-Star in the 26th Jones Cup and won the tournament scoring title with a 20 ppg average. www.miners.ballarat.net.au
