TICKETS SOLD OUT FOR THE 100th YATES CUP CHAMPIONSHIP
HAMILTON, Ont. – With the 100th Yates Cup Championship, presented by Pioneer Petroleums less than 24 hours away tickets are officially sold out for the championship. The No. 6 seeded Western Mustangs will travel to No. 5 seeded Guelph Gryphons, Alumni Stadium tomorrow for the Championship game, and berth into the CIS Mitchell Bowl.
"The Yates Cup is the pinnacle of Ontario university football," says Tom Kendall, Director of Athletics. "It's been a long time since we won it and an even longer time since we hosted it. Hosting this game on campus is a huge opportunity to promote the school, to bring alumni back to campus and to boost school spirit."
“The OUA is thrilled to have a sold out crowd for the 100th Yates Cup Championship. With an OUA season which has seen increased attendance numbers it is a great way to culminate the season,” said OUA Executive Director Ward Dilse. “Fans who are unable to attend and still want to be part of the action can tune into The Score Television Network for a 12:30 pm pre-game show, followed by the 100th Yates Cup Championship in high definition, kick-off set for 1:00pm.”
