OUA W-BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: ROC BREAKS 1,000 PLATEAU AS NO. 2 LANCERS EDGE MARAUDERS
It was the ninth-straight victory for the Lancers, who are currently ranked second in the country.
Windsor trailed 42-37 heading into the fourth quarter but they outscored the Marauders 17-10 to win by two points.
Roc led the way with 11 points, while Laura Mullins (Windsor, Ont.) and Alisa Wulff (Pickering, Ont.) scored nine points a piece for the Lancers.
The Lancers travel to Waterloo Saturday to face the Laurier Golden Hawks at noon before returning home next Wednesday for "Rivalry Night", as they take on their 401 rivals the Western Mustangs at 6 p.m.
The Lancers are four points ahead of the second-place Mustangs and six points ahead of McMaster.

WESTERN 53, WATERLOO 43
WATERLOO, Ont. - The Western Mustangs scored just 14 points in the first half, but buckled down with strong defence in the second to win 53-43 over the Waterloo Warriors on Jan. 14.
Winning the third quarter 23-8, the Mustangs improve to 10-3 for sole possession of second place in the OUA West. The Warriors fall to 4-9.
Next up for Western is a crucial OUA West showdown with the McMaster Marauders on Jan. 17 at Alumni Hall at 1 p.m. The Marauders nearly upset the Windsor Lancers, losing 54-52 in Hamilton on Jan. 14.
In the win over Waterloo, Western was led by Bess Lennox with 18 points and 22 rebounds. The senior forward from Ottawa has been a huge factor in Western's strong season to date.
Amanda Anderson (Chatham, Ont.) added 15 points and three steals, while Nadine Paron (Arva, Ont.) had 11 points, shooting a team-high 50 percent from the field.
Western was just 4-of-21 from beyond the arc, struggling to capitalize on the three-point opportunities. Waterloo was equally disappointing from three-point range, scoring just twice on 25 opportunities.
Reanne Holden (Peterborough, Ont.) paced the Warriors with 14 points, but Western's control of the glass was a major difference. The Warriors were only able to pull down 33 rebounds to Western's 54.

LAURIER 72, GUELPH 56
GUELPH, Ont – The Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks defeated the Guelph Gryphons 72-56 at the W.F. Mitchell Athletics Centre.
Laurier got out to an early 22-17 lead in the first quarter and never looked back, outscoring the Gryphons for the rest of the game to earn their sixth with of the season.
Renata Adamczyk (Dundas, Ont.), the Golden Hawks leading scorer, notched 20 points in the victory and went 7-of-13 from the floor. Renata also picked up seven rebounds in the match.
The Golden Hawks secondary scoring was provided by Mississauga native Aleksa Brkic who scored 15 points and went 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. Brkic is currently fourth on the Hawks in scoring. Kandice Baptiste (Shannonville, Ont.) also chipped in 10 points.
Megan Grant (Thunder Bay, Ont.) was the team leader in rebounds with nine in the game, while Christa Mancino (Port Colbourne, Ont.) brought down seven.
On the other side of the court, the Gryphons leading scorer was Rachel Hancock (Ingersoll, Ont.) who picked up 14 points in the losing effort. Morgan Jean (Sarnia, Ont.) also chipped in 11 points through 26 minutes played.
The Golden Hawks will next be in action against the Windsor Lancers on Jan. 17 at the Wilfrid Laurier Athletic Complex. Tip-off is at 12:00 p.m. The game will also be broadcast locally by Rogers Television.
