BLUES SOCCER CLIMB CIS RANKINGS
Under the direction of interim head coach Eva Havaris, the Varsity Blues women’s soccer team has risen to the top of the CIS ranks and now holds the second best record in Canada. They have tallied 26 goals for while only allowing two against. This past weekend, the Blues crushed their opponents, recording 5-1 and 6-0 victories over the Trent Excalibur and the RMC Paladins, respectively. With a solid mix of veteran leadership and young talent, the Blues currently sit atop the OUA with a 7-1-0 record.
The Varsity Blues men’s soccer team also recorded two big wins this weekend, defeating the Excalibur 4-2 on Saturday and the Paladins 4-0 on Sunday. Having snapped the Carleton Ravens OUA win streak earlier this season, head coach Anthony Capotosto has guided his team to a 6-1-1 record thus far and currently sit in second place behind the Ravens in the competitive OUA East division.
The Varsity Blues travel to North Bay next Saturday, October 4th, to take on the Nipissing Lakers. The men’s action gets underway at 12:00 p.m., with the women to follow at 2:15 p.m.
