GAELS SHOW PROMISE WITH CONVINCING VICTORIES
Queen's first squad defeated the United States Military Academy 49-8 and was led by Chris Fulton of Aurora, Ont. and Michael Wong of Barrie, Ont. who scored two tires each. Scott Kyle of Singapore added his third try of the tournament late in the game to give the Gaels the easy victory.
The Gaels second squad took the field during the second game and continued the stellar play of the first squad taking earning the victory 24-17 over Army's second team.
Scoring in the first half was Graeme Whyte of Hamilton, Ont., Kyle Freitag of Barrie, Ont., and Jamie Armstrong of Aurora, Ont. The second half saw the Gaels lose some momentum and let the Army creep back into the game. The Gaels kept it close but never relinquished the lead adding a last minute try by Nick Hall of Montreal.
Head Coach Peter Huigenbos stated that both squads will have to work on their discipline in the future to be successful
\"Both first and second teams started out amazing and stuck to the game plan which worked out for us. Moving in to the second half we lost some discipline which let our opponents back into the game.\"
McGill and Dartmouth faced each other in the morning competition seeing Darmouth's first team defeated McGill 15-12. In the second squad match, McGill turned the table and blanked Dartmouth 22-0.
