TWO TIEBREAKERS IN CLOSE PLAYOFF RACE
RMC, who returned to the OUA for the first time since 1991, secured the third and final playoff berth of the East division. The Paladins will travel to Laurier Friday for first round playoff action.
In the West division, the #6 Western Mustangs earned a first round bye and head into the playoffs on a winning note after a 2-1 win over Windsor. Laurier won both games this weekend by scores of 1-0. The Golden Hawks will host the RMC Paladins Friday in first round action. The Windsor Lancers beat out Waterloo for the third spot in the West. Tie-breakers were used, with the Lancers coming out on top in the head-to-head competitions between the two teams. Windsor travels to Kingston to take on Queen's.
In the South, Brock finished first and was held to a 0-0 draw against second-place Guelph to end the regular season. The Gryphons host Laurentian in first round playoff action. It was winner take all as McMaster took the third playoff spot in the South with a 3-1 win over the Ryerson Rams. The Marauders scored twice in the second half to secure the victory. Mac travels to York Friday.
With a 2-0 win Sunday against division rivals York, the Toronto Varsity Blues claimed top spot in the North division. Again, it came down to one game as the winner captured the North's first round bye. Laurentian and York were tied for second place at the end of Sunday's games. York finishes ahead of the Voyageurs due to head-to-head results. York hosts McMaster and Laurentian travels to Guelph Friday for first round action.
