Also in the South division, McMaster hosted Guelph to a 1-1 draw. Andrew Habermehl scored for the Marauders in the 73rd minute to tie the game. Guelph's Jamie Fairweather netted the Gryphons' lone goal early in the second half.
Cross-town rivals the Toronto Varsity Blues and York Lions battled to a scoreless draw. Lucianno Lombardi picked up the shutout for the Blues, while Matthew Balkanloo did the same for the Lions. In other North division play, the Laurentian Voyageurs blanked Nipissing 6-0. Joseph Jesseau had an outstanding game for the Sudbury squad, scoring a hat trick.
In the East division, RMC pulled into a three-way tie for first place with their second win over Trent this season. The Paladins, who rejoined the OUA this season after 13 years, defeated the Peterborough school 2-0. Demetris Mousouliotis and Adam Mramor scored RMC's goals, with keeper Patrick Lebeau recording the shutout.
Also in the East, Carleton defeated Trent 5-1. Carleton rookie Andrew Park scored twice, giving him three goals in two matches. Veteran striker Abdullahi Abunafeesa, also scored twice, while rookie Ahmad Berjawi netted the fifth goal. Matt Gardiner scored late in the game to put the Excalibur on the scoreboard.
Laurier dropped both games this weekend, including a 2-0 loss to their division rival Western Mustangs. Sunday, the Golden Hawks fell 5-2 to the visiting Queen's Golden Gaels. Luke Corey netted two for the Gaels. Western won their second game of the weekend Sunday, when they defeated the Windsor Lancers 1-0. Mustang Jason De Thomasis recorded the lone marker in the win.
