SNIDER COACHES ONTARIO UNDER 18'S TO SILVER
TORONTO - Ontario's under-18 women's volleyball team finished with a silver medal at the National Team Challenge Cup at the Varsity Centre with Wilfrid Laurier head coach Luke Snider leading the team to a 6-1 record.
\"It was a great experience as the squad got to play against some strong competition,\" said Snider. \"Our recruits performed well in the tournament and it bodes well for the future of our program.\"
The Ontario team which had three players who will be joining the Golden Hawks lost in four sets 25-22, 25-18, 19-25, 25-19 to British Columbia in the final.
Hawk recruit Amara Ilias (Toronto, Ont.) was named a tournament all-star, while Julie Gordon (Barrie, Ont.) and Lauren Carter (Ottawa, Ont.) both had strong tournaments
The Wilfrid Laurier women's volleyball team finished the 2008-2009 with an 8-11 record during the regular season which tied them for fifth place and out of the playoffs.
