BROCK DEFEATS QUEEN�S, MCMASTER ROLLS PAST YORK
The match took a turn in the fourth set when the Gaels leading two sets to one and leading 16-14 lost their serve. With Brock within a point they proceeded to win the next six on their serve and took control winning the set 25-17.
The Badgers then ran off three straight points and then got a huge block by Shauna Peddle (Stoney Creek, Ont.) in the crucial fifth set to make it 14-11. Brock was led by Peddle who had 16 kills and four blocks while Ally Fast of St. Catharines, Ont. had 16 digs as the Badgers raised their record to 4-5. Golden Gael Christiane Taylor (Toronto, Ont.) had 16 kills on the night to lead Queen's.
McMaster 3, York 1
The McMaster University Marauders (4-3) rolled past York University (4-2) when they traveled to the Lions' court on Saturday. Their persistence paid off in a 3-1 win (25-17, 21-25, 25-18, and 25-18) to improve their position in the West division.
The Marauders improved their season record to 4-3 and they now sit one win out of third place with two games in hand. Western who currently sits in third place with a 5-4 record has played two more games than McMaster. Heidi Bench (St. Catharines, Ont.) led the Marauder attack that featured four players scoring double digits compared to a solitary York player.
Bench led all players with 16 kills and 17 points while serving an ace and helping out on defense with 9 digs. Jennifer Holt (Hamilton, ON) had an remarkable 50 assists as she guided an offense that baffled her opponents, improving her game assist average to 9.29, third in the OUA.
