LAKEHEAD SWEEPS RMC 3-0 IN SEASON OPENER

Lakehead University (2-0) opened the season with a pair of victories over the Royal Military College (0-3) at home weekend play. The Thunderwolves swept the Paladins with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-16) win Sunday afternoon to cap off a great start to their season.

Kalea Mullett led the Wolves with nine kills, eight digs, two service aces, and 11 points in only two sets of play. Ashley Baer (Stratford, Ont.) was Lakehead's player of the game with had six kills, 21 digs, and eight points. RMC was paced by Alexandria Daymond (Ottawa, Ont.) with seven kills, 14 digs, and 18 points while Heidi Jokela (Ottawa, Ont.) recorded 11 points for the Paladins in a losing effort.

Lakehead are now 2-0 in the OUA and RMC is winless to begin their 2007-08 campaign.
