Third-year forward George Chondronikolas (Mississauga, Ont.) took advantage of a York miscue in the 62nd minute, beating the York netminder for the game-winner. Brock third-year netminder Judon Gregory (Mississauga, Ont.) recorded eight saves for his first career shutout.
YORK 1, MCMASTER 0
At McMaster, the Lions (1-1-0) rebounded from an opening-game loss with a 1-0 road victory Sunday over the Marauders (0-2-0). The York offence continued to be thwarted, until late in the game when Franco Ruscetta (Woodbridge, Ont.) scored the game's only goal.
The Lions play host to the Western Mustangs on Sept. 19 while McMaster hosts the Waterloo Warriors. Both games start at 3:15 p.m.
WESTERN 2, LAURIER 0
At Western, the Mustangs (1-0-1) handed the defending OUA champion and No. 7 nationally-ranked Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks (0-1-1) their first loss of the season, a 2-0 outcome on Sunday.
Ryan Avola scored in the opening two minutes for the Mustangs, while fourth-year player Mark Pocrnic (London, Ont.) added an insurance marker at the 30th minute.
Western fourth-year goaltender Kosta Viglatzis (Toronto) earned the shutout making one save.
Laurier visits Brock on Sept. 19 beginning at 3:15 p.m.
CARLETON 7, RMC 0
At Carleton, Joni Okai (Ottawa) earned a hat trick as the host Ravens soared past the RMC Paladins on Sunday.
Samuel McHugh (Russell, Ont.) added two goals, while Justin Campos (Summerside, P.E.I.) and Joey Kewin (London, Ont.) scored single markers for the No. 10-ranked Ravens.
Samuel Hincks (Guelph, Ont.) earned the shutout in net for Carleton.
The Ravens visit the Toronto Varsity Blues on Sept. 19 beginning at 3:15 p.m. while RMC hosts the Nipissing Lakers at 2:15 p.m.
QUEEN'S 1, TORONTO 0
At Queen's, the Gaels (2-0-1) continued their quick start to the season as they picked up their second win in three games with a 1-0 victory over the No. 9-ranked Toronto Varsity Blues (1-1-1).
Third-year player Jordan Brooks (Angus, Ont.) had the game's only goal in the 31st minute when he headed a ball off a throw from Andrew Nador (Kingston, Ont.).
The Gaels host the Laurentian Voyageurs on Sept. 19 beginning at 2:15 p.m.
GUELPH 4, BROCK 2
At Guelph, the Badgers (1-1-0) and Gryphons (2-0-0) engaged in an offensive battle on Sunday with the home side pulling out a 4-2 win.
Guelph had four different goal scorers, including Frankie Luzi (Guelph, Ont.), Colin MacMillan (Newmarket, Ont.), Arthur Berlin (Aurora, Ont.), and Robbie Murphy (Ottawa, Ont.).
Scoring for the Badgers were Anas Hadia (Mississauga, Ont.) and Dan Baldaserro (Niagara Falls, Ont.).
Guelph hosts the Windsor Lancers on Sept. 19 at 3:15 p.m.
WATERLOO 3, WINDSOR 0
At Windsor, the Waterloo Warriors (1-0-1) earned an important 3-0 road victory over the Lancers on Sunday.
Jimmy Murphy (Newmarket, Ont.) scored in the 39th minute for the Warriors, which proved to be the only goal they would need on the afternoon. Fourth-year striker Leon Latty (Toronto) added another goal before halftime, and Chris Lam (Guelph, Ont.) added an insurance marker in the second half.
The Warriors visit Brock on Sept. 20 at 3:15 p.m.
TRENT 2, NIPISSING 0
At Nipissing, the Trent Excalibur earned their first victory of the 2009 regular season with a 2-0 win over the host Lakers on Sunday.
Cromwell Damile scored both goals for the Excalibur, both coming in the first half.
Goaltender Josip Bosnjak made 16 saves for the shutout.
Trent visits the Ryerson Rams on Sept. 19 at 3:15 p.m.
LAURENTIAN 2, TRENT 0
At Laurentian, the Voyageurs remain undefeated at home with a shutout victory over the Trent Excalibur on Saturday.
James Bond (Hamilton, Ont.) scored the game winner in the first half on a free kick, while Charlottetown native Davor Alisic provided an insurance goal late in the second half.
Scott Cliff (Hanmer, Ont.) recorded the shut-out in the victory.
LAURIER 1, WINDSOR 1
At Windsor, the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks opened the 2009 regular season with a tie against the Windsor Lancers on Saturday.
Ale Doma (Burlington, Ont.) scored a first-half goal for the Golden Hawks, while Ryan Wise (St. Thomas, Ont.) responded for Windsor in the second half.
CARLETON 1, RYERSON 0
At Carleton, the Ravens responded from a tough road trip with their first win of the season, a 1-0 victory over the Ryerson Rams on home turf on Saturday.
Alex Vieira (Ottawa) scored the game's only goal in the eighth minute of the contest.
Hincks earned the shutout in goal for the Ravens.
WATERLOO 0, WESTERN 0
At Western, goals were hard to come by in a 0-0 draw between the host Mustangs and visiting Waterloo Warriors on Saturday.
Viglatzis and Waterloo counterpart Michel Saccone (Aurora, Ont.) earned shutouts for their respective teams.
