St. Catharines, Ont. (via Brock Badgers) - The Western Mustangs swept the OUA Rowing Championship banners for a second consecutive season at the Canadian Henley Rowing Course in St. Catharines on Saturday.

The Mustangs captured both the women's and men's team championship titles for the fourth times in five years. Western compiled a total of nine gold medals, four silver and three bronze.

The Western women's team took first place with a total of 481 points. Brock was close behind with 409 points, and Queen's was third with 196.

"Our team boats are pretty special," said Western women's coach Matthew Waddell of his lightweight and heavy eight crews. "We won them both and those are the biggest expressions of teamwork, and depth. It requires everyone to be on the same page."

The Western men's team recorded a total of 535 points. Brock finished second (436) and Queen's was third (188).

"We thrive in the commitment and desire required to win a championship," said Western men's coach Dan Bechard. "Our big team culture has produced some incredibly special years."
