HADZIAVDIC SCORES TWICE IN WESTERN WIN
The Trent Excalibur traveled to Kingston for the weekend to face the Queen’s Golden Gaels and RMC Paladins in back-to-back games Friday and Saturday. Devin Lake, Chris Gencarelli, Dave Kerr-Vayne and Jared King all scored for Queen’s in a 4-1 victory. The Excalibur then lost 2-1 RMC the following day to remain winless after seven matches. Trent took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Matthew Gardner but the Paladins responded with a strike from Kyle Benevides. Didier Belanger added another to give the hosts the three points. RMC played again Sunday, this time losing 1-0 to the undefeated Carleton (5-0-1). Terence Bell scored the only goal of the match in the 13th minute, while Carleton goalkeeper Arjun Langford recorded the clean sheet.
In other men’s action, second-year Kitchener native Payman Charkhzarin scored two goals to lead the Waterloo Warriors to a 5-0 win over the Windsor Lancers. Jeevan Jayenthrian, Jeff Payne and Oinghma Yang also scored for the Warriors, who improve to 3-3-0 after six matches.
