Western men and Queen's women crowned 2016 OUA Squash Champions
Niagara on the Lake, ON - The Western Mustangs men and Queen's Gaels women were crowned the 2016 Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Squash Champions Sunday afternoon at White Oaks Resort and Spa.
Niagara on the Lake, ON - The Western Mustangs men and Queen's Gaels women were crowned the 2016 Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Squash Champions Sunday afternoon at White Oaks Resort and Spa.
With legendary Western coach Jack Fairs in attendance, the Mustangs men captured their 33rd consecutive OUA title. The Mustangs posted a perfect 6-0 record. The Toronto Varsity Blues went 5-1 to take home silver while the Waterloo Warriors finished with a 3-1-2 record for the bronze medal.
The Queen's women captured their 12th OUA title in school history. The Gaels went undefeated with a 5-0 record. On the final day, Queen's defeated Toronto to capture the gold medal. The Varsity Blues went 4-1 for silver and the Western women took home bronze after going 3-2.
Earning OUA Most Valuable Player honours were Waterloo's Cameron Seth and Toronto's Evelyn Moorhouse. Queen's Cameron Butler and Brock's Andrea Chaves were named OUA Rookie of the Year.
OUA Coach of the Year honours went to Brock's Matt Easingwood and Waterloo's Vinit Kudva.
