Banner Season: Toronto Varsity Blues Win 2026 OUA Figure Skating Championship
Toronto, Ont. (C/O TMU Bold) — The University of Toronto Varsity Blues won the 2026 OUA Figure Skating Championship at the Mattamy Athletic Centre with 12 medals, including six gold, and 106 points. The Varsity Blues were dominant, earning a podium finish in 12 of the 14 events.
The Western Mustangs finished second with 104 points, while the McMaster Marauders rounded out the podium with 51 points, earning the tiebreaker against the Waterloo Warriors, who also registered 51 points. The tiebreaker was determined by the most gold medals, as McMaster's one gold medal in couples artistic proved to be the difference.
Standout performers for Toronto included Gabriella Guo, Victoria Bocknek, and Hugo Li. Guo captured gold in three of her four events: senior pair freeskate, novice women's short program, and freeskate fours, plus a silver in dance fours. Bocknek earned gold in senior women's freeskate and freeskate fours. Hugo Li, Guo's partner in senior pair freeskate, also medalled in three events, winning gold in senior pair freeskate and freeskate fours, and silver in the Star 8/9 couple dance.
The victory marks the Varsity Blues' 10th career OUA title and ends the Mustangs' three-year championship streak. Toronto now ranks second all-time with 10 titles, behind Western's 18.
