Guelph Gryphons standout John Rush to join Winnipeg Blue Bombers
WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the additions of National linebacker John Rush, and National kicker Billy Pavlopoulos.
WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the additions of National linebacker John Rush, and National kicker Billy Pavlopoulos.
Rush (6-1, 220, Guelph, October 23, 1993, in Niagara Falls, ON) was the 2015 Presidents' Trophy winner as the nation's top CIS defensive player. He led all Canadian University players in 2015 with 60 tackles. Over his five years at Guelph, Rush accumulated 150 solo tackles, with assists on 129 more. He also tallied nine sacks, two forced fumbles and four interceptions. He was the first Guelph player to win the top defensive player award since Blue Bomber Head Coach Mike O'Shea did so in 1992.
