OUA ANNOUNCES MEN'S SOCCER ALL-STARS
Last year's OUA Rookie of the Year, Rafael Moniz from Brock University added to his league accolades as he was named the North/South Player of the Year. The second-year midfielder has helped lead the seventh Badgers to a 5-1-4 record on the season as they head into this weekend's Final Four. From the host Western Mustangs, defender Paul Speakman was honoured as the OUA East/West Player of the Year. The two-time OUA all-star helped engineer a tough Mustang defence that allowed just six goals against all season.
Leading the OUA in scoring, rookie Timothy Khaemba from the Carleton University received OUA East/West Rookie of the Year honours. Khaemba scored eight goals in the 10 regular season games on the Ravens successful 8-2-0 regular season record.
From the North/South division Michael Bianchi from the York University Lions was recognized as the Rookie of the Year for his interdivision. Bianchi helped lead the Lions to an impressive 4-2-4 record.
Repeat recipients John Vidovich of the University of Toronto Varsity Blues and Rock Basacco from the Western Mustangs both earned OUA Coach of the Year honours for their respective interdivision. Vidovich repeats his award he took home last year, while Basacco was named for the third time in his career.
