Ridgebacks Chen named OUA Peak Performer (Jan. 16)
BURLINGTON, Ont. – Zhiyi Chen has been named Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Peak Performer of the Week, presented by Investors Group, for the period ending January 16, 2018.

A week after reaching the finals of the Ryerson Open – the first ever Ridgeback to reach an A Flight finals), Zhiyi Chen helped the UOIT badminton continue their strong campaign at the Ridgeback Team Competition.
At the event, Chen went 4-0 in his matches. In round robin play, he was 3-0 including two men's singles victories and a men's doubles win, teaming up with his brother Sheng Chen. In the playoffs, he had a men's singles victory.
The Forensic Science student helped his team finish in first place in round robin play, which featured a total of eight teams, and ended up winning his final match in men's singles, capping off what has been an outstanding stretch for the first year player.
