The Lady Vees were led by two rookies, Emma Tallman (Manitoulin Island, Ont.) and Gracie Tetzlaff (Trenton, Ont.) who finished one-two among female runners, while Windsor transfer Madeleine Woods (Sudbury, Ont.) ended up a close third. Maggie Robbins (Port Perry, Ont.) and Katie Maziarski (Sudbury, Ont.) completed the Blue and Gold sweep of top five.
Vees assistant coach, Darren Jermyn was pleased with the team's performance, "The girls exceeded expectations and showed a high level of fitness coming off their summer training. A number of girls ran personal bests and we are definitely ahead of where we were at this time last year."
The Sudbury Masters Running Club hosts the Ramsey Tour 5K Race to raise money for scholarships and bursaries for the Lady Vees running team.
