GUELPH - On Saturday, the Guelph Gryphons swimming team hosted the Toronto Varsity Blues for a dual meet. After returning from a two-week training camp in Florida on Friday, the jet-lagged Gryphons lost to the Blues but showed promising results.

Rookies Ben Roberts (Kingston, Ont.), Bethany Flemington (Pushlinch, Ont.) and Carolyn Michon shined in the 100m backstroke, 100m back and 200 breaststroke respectively

On Sunday, the Gryphons returned to the Gryphon Pool to host the Laurier Golden Hawks, Waterloo Warriors, Brock Badgers and a Huron team. Overall the Gryphons won 15 of the 36 races.

Leading the women's team was Flemington who swam tactically great races and won the 50m freestyle.  Payne raced another great day winning the 100m butterfly and 400m freestyle, an event she rarely swims in, displaying her endurance.

Andrew Ford (Guelph, Ont.) continued to lead the men's team winning the 100 and 400m freestyle events.
